Sharing love in so many ways! (part 1 of 2)

We are hearing from our workers all the time about the ways in which they are showing God’s love to those around them. Here are a few short excerpts from their update letters.
I asked a (university) friend if he wanted to continue reading through John (we’d done one session already). My friend couldn’t, but another friend happened to say: “I’ve been meaning to read that book!” So he and I began to look through the first bit of John. And from there, I suggested we make it a regular thing. I think we’ve had three sessions so far.

I am now running a support group for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. There is a huge need for this ministry. Sadly, abuse can happen anywhere, but I’m particularly noting the need for many of the immigrants who are coming from Latin America.

At our youth away day we had 24 young people from four different churches. We split them into five groups and each had to recreate at least one scene from Mark’s Gospel. It was amazing to see how creative they all were. One group used Lego, another used playing cards and yet another drew a comic strip.

We will travel to Ukraine to meet and encourage the existing ECMers, and very excitingly, to interview four new couples for membership of ECM. Three of these couples lead the church plants that have grown up from the volunteer centres that ECM has been supporting for almost three years.

I have linked up as a buddy to a Kurdish family from Turkey. The parents do not speak Dutch, and I do not speak Kurdish nor Turkish. I have started introducing the father to Psalms in Kurdish on YouTube. We communicate using a phone translation app. I use this method at the local asylum seekers’ centre for Arabic, Turkish and Vietnamese.
