Church Planting in Ukraine
When war devastated the Kyiv region of Ukraine, the Church didn't retreat. Instead, partners from Irpin Bible Church immediately established emergency centres to provide food, electricity, and trauma support. What began as critical humanitarian relief has, by God's grace, grown into something far greater.
Today, ECMI is partnering with Irpin Bible Church to support three thriving daughter churches that were born directly out of this crisis.
Located in Borodianka, Hostomel, and Nemishaieve, these churches are led by three Ukrainian pastoral couples—Anatolii & Olena, Andrii & Luda, and Illia & Iryna. Together, they are sharing the hope of Christ throughout their communities.
Their ministries reach children, young people, senior citizens, war veterans, and internally displaced people through practical care, discipleship, and community outreach. Sports, creative arts, and other activities provide natural opportunities to build relationships and share the gospel. God is working powerfully. Dozens of people from non-religious backgrounds, as well as others searching for hope amid suffering, have already come to faith and been baptised.
The need continues to grow. God is moving so quickly that congregations like the one in Hostomel have already outgrown their original facilities and urgently need larger spaces to hold the harvest.
