Greater European Mission (GEM Europe) and ECM
In 2025, Greater European Mission (GEM) Europe and European Christian Mission (ECM) Netherlands entered into a partnership agreement to enable GEM to second individuals in the Netherlands for mission work.
About Greater European Mission:
GEM is a community of disciple-makers with a desire to see Europe transformed by Jesus. For over 70 years, our staff have been building relationships and creating environments of grace where people—whether near to or far from God—feel welcome. On a continent now considered post-Christian, GEM’s people strive to be a light through transformative disciple-making relationships. GEM’s mission is to reach Europe by multiplying disciples and growing the Church of Christ. Our vision is that God expands His Kingdom by reaching all the peoples of Europe and beyond.

ECM’s vision is to see the peoples of Europe transformed in the name of Jesus Christ. This is our dream and aspiration, and it motivates everything we do. Why does ECM exist? Our purpose, or reason for being, is to glorify God by planting and developing self-multiplying churches that evangelize and make disciples among the peoples of Europe. This is what ECM is about: facilitating church planting in Europe.
ECM’s vision is to see the peoples of Europe transformed in the name of Jesus Christ. This is our dream and aspiration, and it motivates everything we do. Why does ECM exist? GEM and ECM see Europe as their mission field. Why? In most European countries, less than 3% of the population claims a relationship with Jesus. Many Europeans can go through their entire lives without ever coming into contact with a follower of Christ. Europe is the crossroads of world cultures. With the ongoing refugee crisis bringing people to Europe’s shores, a global revival is more important than ever. The economic, political, and immigration turbulence of the past decade has laid the foundation for Europeans to find hope in Jesus.
ECM supports GEM in the sending of Sil Rustenburg and his mission project, Chaplain Forchrist.
