Mission
ECM is involved in church planting, evangelism, children's work and social work in Timisoara, Piatra Neamt, and in southern Romania.

Vision
The Romanian people are the only Romanesque nation that isn’t Roman Catholic, but Orthodox. Even today the Orthodox Church has a significant influence on Romanian society.

These are difficult economic times for Romania. Membership of the European Union hasn’t solved the issue of poverty and many Romanians emigrate to other countries in search of prosperity. There is an aging population and in rural Romania entire villages are dying out.

Yet Romanians are receptive to the gospel and there is hope for the future. ECM prays that the number of believers will grow in number, so that their invaluable testimony spreads throughout the country.

Facts

Economy
A land rich in agriculture, minerals and oil, but became more industrialized during Communism. Foreign investment is increasing as economic restructuring accelerates. Romania now struggles with employment issues, especially in the service sector, since many people of working age emigrate to work elsewhere in Europe and increasing numbers of rural people abandon their farms.
