Introducing
between Bosnian, Croat and Serb, and was consequently very much caught in the middle in the war in the 1990’s. It is estimated that 250,000 people were killed in the fighting and “ethnic cleansing” that took place. This has left deep scars, all the more because this took place among communities that had previously lived together and even intermarried. The divisions persist.

Spiritual Climate
Spiritually, Bosnian allegiance to Islam came about as a result of 500 years of Turkish occupation, which means that evangelical witness is small. The Evangelical alliance is not active in
Currently there is one couple who works in a town in the north of the country. Their church building is strategically placed to reach out to both the Croat and Muslim communities, giving them unique opportunities for evangelism and for communicating the true message of reconciliation. They have seen several people come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a result. They also have a concern to reach children from both communities with the gospel and have been praying for help in that area.

Long term
As the country continues to transition from war to peace, it is imperative that those who feel a calling from God for this type of work make themselves known. Workers of every stripe are needed. It would be a great bonus to already speak Bosnian, however it is initially not required.
